In.cube8r is a truly unique and creative business that’s been championing Aussie artists since 2007. We work with makers of wonderful things and help them grow their small businesses by showcasing their work in our stores and online.
We operate like a market — but open 7 days a week — where artists simply rent a space (cube, shelf, rack, or wall) to display their products, while our team takes care of sales, customer service, e-commerce, marketing, and more.

About You
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Have retail or hospitality experience (or transferable customer-facing skills such as markets, events, or conventions)
- Are confident working in a fast-paced environment with diverse clients and customers
- Bring maturity, reliability, and adaptability to your work
- Enjoy problem-solving and can think on your feet
- Are comfortable working weekends and covering shifts when needed
- Have strong interpersonal skills — you’ll be chatting with people from all walks of life daily
- Are tech-savvy and open to learning our systems (full training provided)
- Can bring bonus skills such as marketing, content creation, event support, or visual merchandising
Retail Wizard
Store: Melb Central
Hours: 18-27 hours per week
Pre-requisites: 1-2 years retail / hospitality or transferrable experience
Nice to have: degree or experience in design, communications, web development, marketing, social media, business / admin support
About this role
We’re looking for a part-time retail wizard to join our team for 3 days per week, including weekends. Flexibility is important — you’ll also be asked to cover shifts if other team members are away.
Every day will be different, but your role will centre on three key areas:
Retail (Customer Experience)
- Opening and closing the store (Fitzroy or Melbourne Central)
- Processing EFTPOS and cash sales at POS
- Helping customers find gifts & wrapping purchases
- Keeping the store clean, organised, and visually appealing
- Working independently (outside of peak seasons like Christmas)
Cuber Care (Supporting Our Artists)
- Updating cuber records and answering enquiries
- Approving products, checking for errors & curating gift guides
- Trouble-shooting inventory issues, conducting stocktakes & assisting cubers with product listings
- Helping cubers get the most out of their experience with us
Admin & Digital (Behind the Scenes)
- Editing & proofreading cuber submissions, blogs, and content
- Creating engaging social media posts and campaigns
- Assisting with marketing, admin, and e-commerce tasks
Pre-requisites
This is not an entry level role. At least 1-2 years of retail / hospitality work, or transferable skills are required for a successful application.
